What Trinkerr do?

Trinkerr is a Social Investing platform where people can learn from the best traders in India. People can discover different and diverse portfolios made by traders and invest in them using various online brokers. Trinkerr focuses on a community-based learning platform where people can come, interact and exchange their knowledge of investing and trading by following the best investors in India.

My Role at Trinkerr

During my internship at Trinkerr, I worked as a UX Engineer. A very hybrid role for me. I was responsible for setting up their design system on Figma and then moving it to the code base of the Trinkerr and putting that in use to make a consistent UI/UX for the Web and mobile app of Trinkerr. Not only this, but I’ve also done some design tasks, and one of those tasks is covered under this case study.

About Project

To increase user engagement over the platform, trinkerr wanted to have a trader’s profile page where people can learn more about the expert traders and investors on the platform. People can find out their favorite trader’s investment tactics, their investments, portfolios, and their followings.

Not only this, But on the profile page, a trader could be able to edit the basic details related to his account and about himself.

As a designer, I need to build a Profile Page where traders can engage their followers by sharing the byproduct of their knowledge in the trading.

Deconstructing Old design

In order to re-design the profile page for the trader, I have to inspect and understand the current design carefully, its functionality, and the intention “why was this design thought in the first place?”. This helped me to get an idea about not only existing information architecture but also the informational hierarchy (in some ways).

Previously over the platform, traders could see all the info related to there accounts, including the return, investment, referrals, email, and even the followers. I felt we need more information to display and functionality on the profile in a more aesthetical way (well, obviously) in order to make to profile more informative to the trader as well as the followers.
